It is amazing how quickly time passes. I was reminicing with my best friend, Jarrod, about the days we shared in an apartment in Olathe, KS. It doesnt seem that long ago, but it has been 3 years since he moved to California for a teaching job.
It is crazy how things have changed since then. I have gotten married, moved to the opposite coast, sold one house and bought another. It has been a long time since Jarrod and I stood on our second floor balcony throwing sandwich bags full of dishsoap in the fountain at Jefferson Place Apartments so they would leak into the fountain and make it foam up. We got the idea to do that after we had accidently used dishsoap instead of dishwasher soap in the dishwasher. Not only did we have clean dishes, but the floor of the kitchen and some of the carpet in the hallway got clean as well!
We had some fun times when we had that apartment. For a while there were three of us, as our friend Aaron moved in after he got out of college. The three of us had some marathon video game sessions (Quake, Diablo II, etc). They were a lot of fun, but some of the words that came out of my mouth as frustration built cannot be repeated here.
Friends have moved away and lives have changed, but it is nice to think back to times we shared and laugh at how big of idiots we were back then. Some of us still are. ND
I seem to remember the first try not working out, as the bags didn’t leak into the fountain…so, you guys threw in more…then end result lasted several weeks and they finally drained the thing. Or, something like that.
