All three of us here have been fighting a cold lately. Grant had a bit of the sniffles when we got back from our Thanksgiving travels, but nothing severe. Then I came down with a bit of a cold and had a sore throat for a few days. Then Carol got sick, more severely than either Grant or I. She got the body ache, the congestion, the headache, the whole bit (and she is still fighting it 10 days later). Then Grant began to sound congested and then got a runny nose and now he has a cough. And now I have it again too. Worse this time than I had it before. So it has been an endless cycle for about a month now. We have started spraying EVERYTHING down with Lysol, washing our hands ALL the time, using hand sanitizer, etc to try to end the spread of this darn bug.

I share all this simply because I wanted to say that even when Grant coughs I find it really cute. I feel bad for him and wish he would hurry up and get over it, but when he does cough or sneeze I find the noise cute. Maybe because it is such a small sounding sound that doesn’t sound real. Maybe because he can follow a string of coughs with an “ooooooh” and a smile. Probably it is just because I am such a proud papa that EVERYTHING my son does seems cute – even sickness.
