Glasses for Carol
So, I finally got tired of not seeing very well at a distance, which started when I was about 4 months pregnant with Grant, and has continued up to this point. So, I swallowed my “I don’t ever want to wear glasses” pride and got glasses. Now I truly look like the schoolmarm I once was! The most annoying part of this whole thing is trying to get acclimated to the astigmatism correction in both eyes. Basically, I feel like I’m in some sort of carnival funhouse. I feel like I’m about 3 feet tall, or else the ground has come up a lot closer than it ever was, and when I look at the floor, it goes all slanty in all different directions. When I get in my car to drive, I feel like my car has shrunk down to clown car size and my seat is about 6 inches off the ground. It’s crazy. Apparently that happens as your brain tries to get used to seeing through little ovals of corrected vision. Well, at least I can see again, the trees once more have distinctive little leaves and road signs actually have letters and numbers on them. Hallelujah!
