RV Purchase?!?
Nate had signed up for an account on RV Trader and saved a search with very specific criteria for price, mileage, length, etc. He hadn’t been paying real close attention to it because most of the RVs were really far away and would have been difficult to get to Nebraska. One Thursday evening, Nate saw an RV listing that looked too good to be true. It met all his criteria (plus some) and was located in Iowa, only about 4 hours away. He mentioned the RV to Carol on Friday and by Friday night they had decided to make an offer on it. But then Nate noticed that the RV was no longer listed on the dealership’s website. The assumption was that the RV had sold quickly. On Saturday morning, Nate texted with the sales representative, who confirmed that the RV had sold. However, a different sales rep said that the RV was being test driven by someone who had come down from North Dakota and he would let us know if the sale didn’t go through. Nate didn’t have much hope, but around lunchtime he got a call that the sale had not gone through because the buyers financing hadn’t worked out. So Nate immediately put a down payment on it and told them to start the paperwork. By the middle of the following week, not only was it purchased but it was also sitting in our driveway. The dealership had agreed to drive it over for a very reasonable price. So, while we hadn’t planned on buying an RV until the summer, at the earliest, this RV kind of fell in our laps and we snatched it up. We can’t believe we are RV owners!

RV Trip to Branson, MO
We decided to take our first trip in our own RV over Spring Break. We headed down to an RV park on a lake in Branson, Missouri. Even though it wasn’t very warm, we still enjoyed hanging out together in and around the RV. Nate tried fishing several days in a row, but never caught anything. Carol and the kids went kayaking one day. On another day, we rented a boat and took it out on the lake for about four hours. It was a lot of fun out on the boat, except for the period of time we spent trying to get Nate’s anchor loose from the bottom of the lake. During the attempt to salvage the anchor, Nate fell over backwards in the boat and bruised and scratched up his back. Shortly after that, Nate decided to just cut the rope to the anchor, so the anchor now sits at the bottom of the lake. Overall the trip was a major success!
