July 6th Beach Trip
We decided to take a trip to the beach yesterday since the forecast only called for a 30% chance of afternoon showers. That was the lowest chance of rain that we’d had in several days so we thought it was worth the risk. And we were lucky enough to have a beautiful day for a beach trip. We decided to try a beach that we’d never been to before. We arrived at Anastasia State Park in historic St. Augustine at around 12:30 and set up our beach umbrella and chairs.
After having a quick lunch we were ready to hit the waves and play in the sand! We all went down by the water, but Jenna quickly fell asleep on me.
I walked around with Jenna asleep on me for a bit so I could catch a few pictures of Carol and Grant and then Jenna and I retired to the comfort of a beach chair in the shade. Jenna and I probably sat together for about half an hour while Carol and Grant continued to play in the sand and splash in the waves.

When Jenna awoke, we made our way back down to the water and Carol and Jenna sat in the water. This was Jenna’s first trip to the beach and we were curious if she would enjoy the water as much as Grant does.
Jenna didn’t seem to mind the water too much, but we could tell that she was getting tired. She tolerated the ocean until she took an unseen wave to the face. Her enjoyment of the beach rapidly declined from that point on and soon we could tell that it was time to leave.
Glad that you made it to yet another beach, for a fun day! Jenna will like it better when she’s a bit older.
