Fourth of July

We were able to celebrate Independence Day with Nate’s family, including the younger cousins.  Everyone had a wonderful time.

RV Rental Trip to Galveston, TX

We had been talking about buying an RV for a while, but decided we didn’t want to jump into RV ownership until we had tried one out.  So we rented an RV from Cruise America and picked it up in Omaha.  We packed up all our things and headed south to the nearest beach – in Galveston, TX.  We split our drive in half and stopped for one night in Oklahoma.

Then we headed on to Galveston to a very cool RV resort across the highway from the beach.

Drive-Thru Zoo

Between Lincoln and Omaha, there is a drive through animal sanctuary that we had never been through before.  We decided to make a trip over there to see the animals.  It was a very neat experience.

Nana Visit / Omaha Zoo

Nana came for a visit and we decided to take a day and go over to Omaha to the Henry Doorley Zoo.  She had heard good things about the zoo, all the way from Lawrence Kansas.  And since we had not been to it, we decided it was time.  The zoo is very cool!

Kayaking

We always enjoy finding new lakes to take the kayaks out on! This is Lake Wanahoo in Wahoo, NE.

1st Day of School

School started in August.  Both Grant (9th grade) and Jenna (3rd grade) went back to in person school after a couple of years of remote school due to Covid.

Bathroom Floor Replacement Project

We decided to tear up the old linoleum and replace it with a laminate flooring that looked like tiles.  We also installed a new toilet. Carol did a great job on the project!

More Kayaking

Since the weather was so nice, we were able to kayak in September at a local lake.

Niece’s Birthday

There was a 1st birthday party for Nate’s niece Emberly at an animal sanctuary that also had horseback riding. We all got to ride!
