Long Key, FL 2012
We traveled down to Long Key, FL recently to visit Nana Reid. We left on a Saturday morning and didn’t get off to a great start. About 10 minutes after getting on the Interstate we ran into a major traffic jam and sat on the road for an hour before the wreck was cleared. Once we got going, we made pretty good time but it wasn’t nearly fast enough for Grant. To stop him from constantly pestering us on how much longer until we were going to be there, we set a timer on my phone and told him he couldn’t ask us again until the timer went off. Of course, then the question changed to, “how much longer until the timer goes off?”
Once we got to “Nana’s Florida house”, Grant immediately wanted to go to the beach and to the pool. We convinced him that there would be time for that later since we were going to be there a few days. Even so, we ended up walking over to “Nana’s Beach” after supper so he could look at it.
While we were there, we were able to spend some quality time relaxing at both “Nana’s Beach” and Anne’s Beach, as well as the pool at the resort. We also were able to go over to the Dolphin Research Center, which is always a highlight for me.
Here are some pictures from our trip:
