Disney on Ice
Jenna has been a fan of the movie Frozen ever since she saw it. Carol saw that Disney on Ice was coming to Lincoln and part of the show was dedicated to Frozen. She decided to get two tickets and took Jenna. She loved it! The only issue was that she wanted to go out onto the ice with the characters and got upset when Carol told her she couldn’t. Getting an Anna figurine seemed to help. While Carol and Jenna were at Disney on Ice, I took Grant to the local Mall to check out elevators. While we were there, we decided to get our picture taken in a photo booth. We enjoyed that!
Nana’s Visit
Nana came for a visit before starting some of her travels. One of things we did was find a pumpkin patch that had a petty zoo, where Jenna got to hold some bunnies.
State Capital
While Nana was in town, she and Carol took a tour of the State Capital building in downtown Lincoln. It has been years since I have been and I would like to see if in person again sometime, but the pictures were a nice reminder of the architecture.
Phil Collins Concert
My Dad, brother and I bought tickets to see Phil Collins and Dad and I drove up to Omaha together, met up at Andrew’s house and then made our way to the venue early to get a good parking place. We thought we’d grab dinner somewhere near the arena, but ended up eating food inside the concert hall after finding that all the nearby restaurants were packed. Lesson learned to stop somewhere to eat along the way and worry about finding a parking spot later.
Climbing Trees
Grant has long enjoy climbing trees. We decided to get out the ladder so that he could climb sit in a tree that he normally wouldn’t be able to reach. He seemed to enjoy himself.
Halloween
Halloween in a favorite holiday for the kids and one of two (with Christmas) that results in decorating the house and yard. This year was no different. This year Grant went as a mummie and Jenna went as a witch for pre-Halloween activities like our church’s Trunk or Treat. For actually Halloween night she switched to being Elsa from Frozen. She made it about halfway through our trick or treating route before deciding to go home to help give out candy while Grant and I hit the other half of the street. Grant came home with an overflowing bucket of candy!
