So the process of replacing the floor in the majority of our house has begun. We are replacing some old nasty carpet in our house with laminate flooring from Sam’s Club (thank you Tom and Linda for the use of your card!). We now have the kitchen done. We still plan on doing the hallway, living room, and dining room. We have about 140 sq feet completed which is about 1/4 of the total amount. So Labor Day weekend is going to involve a LOT of labor. But it should look great when we are done. Neither Carol nor I have done this before so it is a learning experience. It started out as a pretty slow experience too. After 3 hours we had laid a total of 9 boards. After we figured out what we were doing we sped up tremendously. We have a good system going. I measure and draw out the cuts to be made, Carol cuts them and then we work together to snap them into place. Now that we have a good system in place, this coming weekend shouldn’t cause us too many problems. Wish us luck! ND
