RV Trip to Topeka, KS

We took a Fall Break RV trip to a very nice KOA campground near Topeka, Kansas. The weather was unseasonably warm and we had a fun long weekend. As luck would have it, Carol’s Uncle Bill was visiting Nana, and so they both made a trip over to our campground to visit and have lunch one afternoon. The kids had never met Uncle Bill before, so that was a nice family visit.

Carol Choir Trip

Carol went on a choir tour bus trip over a weekend to sing at three churches in three cities: Wichita, Tulsa, and Dallas. Along the way they also stopped at the Oklahoma City bombing memorial and at a Buc-ees near Dallas. The choir performances went well and Carol had a great time singing with her choir.

Halloween

Halloween is always a fun celebration. Carol dressed up to teach class that day.

Horse Lessons

Horse lessons lasted into November this year.

Thanksgiving

We were able to celebrate Thanksgiving with both sides of the family this year, in Beatrice and then in Lawrence, which included surprise cupcakes for an early birthday party for Jenna.

Jenna’s Birthday

Jenna turned 13 and is officially a teenager! Gramma and Pa attended the festivities. Jenna was very excited to get a Dorothy costume from the Wizard of Oz.

Christmas Decorations

Nate and Grant went wild again with Christmas lights and decorations.

Zoo Lights

For several years now we have attended the Zoo Lights at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo. It’s always a fun time.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

We celebrated Christmas Eve with Gramma and Pa, decorating cookies, eating, and opening some presents. Christmas day was spent at home opening more presents, eating, and driving through a Christmas light show.

Wizard of Oz Museum

As part of Jenna’s birthday present, over Christmas break we drove to Wamego, KS to see the world famous Wizard of Oz museum. It was quite impressive and everyone enjoyed it. Jenna has really been into the Wizard of Oz for a while now, and knows all the actors who played the characters in the movie.
