Ax Throwing Date

One of Nate’s Christmas presents was a gift certificate to go to a local Ax throwing place, so Nate and Carol had a date night to try that out in January. It was a lot of fun, though neither Nate nor Carol were able to consistently hit the center of the target. And both Nate and Carol were sore the next morning.

Carol’s Getaway

Carol was able to get away for some alone time to a nice little treehouse-like rental down in Springfield, Missouri for a weekend. She enjoyed being able to rest, relax and enjoy nature a bit with some cave exploration and a trip to an aquarium.

Storage Room Project

Nate decided to tear out the single shelf for storage that was under the steps to the basement and replace it with a wall with grooves for hangable shelves and other storage.

Dog Park

The dogs always enjoy it when they are taken to a local dog park to sniff around. And it was a nice day to get out and get some walking in.

Nate’s Business Trip to Vegas

The company that Nate works for had its annual all-employee meeting out in Vegas again this year. He enjoyed seeing coworkers that he typically only sees over Zoom meetings.

Sibling Love

Jenna and Grant love each other and Grant even tolerates her hugging him (sometimes).

Grant’s Academic Honors Ceremony

Grant made honor roll again and attended a ceremony to get his certificates and academic letter.

Damage to the Dodge Caliber

One night after dark, our doorbell rang and a middle-aged guy was standing there and said that his daughter had rear-ended Nate’s car that was parked on the icy street. Nate and the guy communicated via text message and worked out a deal for a money transfer to avoid having to involve insurance and Nate and Grant replaced the bumper themselves (after the weather turned nicer).

Nate’s Birthday

Nate celebrated another birthday in February.

Spring Break Trip to Excelsior Springs, Missouri

We rented a place on a little lake outside of Excelsior Springs, MO for a week long getaway over Spring Break. We kayaked, had firepits, fished, and explored the town and did some sightseeing at the old historic springs spa, the woolen mills, and a nearby nature park. It was a restful week and everyone enjoyed the time away.

Flowers

Carol’s flowers started blooming in March. Plus the asparagus sprouted.
