Jenna’s Make a Difference Fair Project
For part of Jenna’s Humanities Class, she participated in a group project for a local non profit called the Food Bank of Lincoln. Her group did research on food insecurity and hunger in Lincoln, then made a presentation at the fair. Jenna did a great job presenting facts about hunger, food insecurity and the Food Bank. The Fair raised money for many local non profits in the area and the students truly did Make A Difference.

Grant’s Senior Showcase
As part of Grant’s HVAC pathway at the Career Academy, he took a Senior Seminar class in which he was supposed to design and build a project related to HVAC. He designed and built a “Thermostatically Controlled Outlet Machine” that will control his space heater for his bedroom with a thermostat mounted on his wall. This is an original design that actually works, and his teachers were all very impressed with his invention. He had to present his invention at a showcase for all the teachers and parents. He did a great job and is looking forward to using his invention this winter.

Ax Throwing and Flower Garden Date for Wedding Anniversary
For our 22nd wedding anniversary, we returned to the Axe throwing place. It has a new name and new ownership but was still just as fun! There were priests there throwing axes as well, which we found quite entertaining. Afterwards, we visited a rose garden which had many beautiful varieties blooming.
